Hard Sparks is seeing actors for the roles of ABIGAIL and TUFFER in J.Stephen Brantley's THE JAMB directed by David Drake.
ABIGAIL Female. A youthful sixty with a forty-year-old son. She is a once-successful folk-rock singer-songwriter who has mostly retired to rural New Mexico. Funny, wise, insightful, she is Yoda in a peasant skirt, the Auntie Mame of organic produce. Plays acoustic guitar.
TUFFER is a very charming thirty-nine, but can pass for younger in a bar at closing time. Tough, sexy, irreverent, addicted, he’s a trust fund baby, an ivy league flunkee, a gay New York native who continues to party like it’s 1999. Self-described sex-fiend, meth head, and Gemini. Some nudity and hand-to-hand stage combat.
Rehearsals begin July 27th. Performances are Thursday-Saturday, September 1-17. Equity Showcase Agreement.
